What share of residents are foreign or stateless? (1 January 2024)

Citizenship is a legal status, not a measure of ethnicity, ancestry or birthplace. “Foreign and stateless” follows Eurostat’s citizenship categories. A resident who holds Cypriot citizenship is not counted as a foreign citizen solely because they were born abroad.

Numerator and denominator always come from the same table and the same year -- never mixed across sources.
