Methodological caveats
Migration flow statistics rest on a 12-month intended-residence rule; flows are not directly comparable with stock figures from the census. Emigration is a generally under-recorded flow in EU population registers, Cyprus included, because someone who leaves without notifying the authorities is not counted as an emigrant.
