Methodological caveats
Persons who moved during the calendar year, as the reporting country defines them: definitions of who counts as an immigrant/emigrant, the minimum length of stay and the registration source differ by country, so flows are not strictly comparable across countries and are never a population stock. The citizenship groups are as published: FOR_STLS = EU27_2020_FOR + NEU27_2020_FOR + STLS and NAT + FOR_STLS + UNK = TOTAL (checked on Germany 2024); no group is summed on the site. Net migration on the site is a labelled difference of the two published totals, not a Eurostat figure.
